Owner & Operator Shawn Boucher was born and raised in Ottawa. His family built their home in Manotick in 1988 and have lived there since.
With a strong work ethic, Shawn began working during the summer at the age of 13 and quickly took an interest in his father’s company Boucher Precast Concrete Limited. He became immersed in their family business all the while cutting many of his neighbours lawns as a side business. By the age of 20 Shawn became management at his family’s company where he would remain until the age of 30 when the company would be sold.
A few years later Shawn returned to his roots and launched his own company, S.N.B. Lawn Maintenance Limited, still servicing his neighbourhood, hometown and surrounding areas.

How to prepare your lawn for Slit-seeding:
For best results, lawn should be mowed the day prior to slit-seeding:

lawn should be mowed to a height of 2” the day prior to slit-seeding. The day of is fine as long as we are able to start upon arrival.
Please advise if you have a lawn service and which day they mow your lawn. We will try to schedule your slit-seeding for the day after.
Weed spraying must be done before slit-seeding services.
Sprinkler heads are to be flagged. If unfamiliar with your system, we can be available to install flags.

We will need access to your irrigation timer on the day of the visit. We will mark any irrigation sprinklers that are WITHIN THE AREA to be serviced.
Watering requirements following treatment:

For best results, the treated area(s) MUST be watered a minimum 3 times daily (30 minutes each) for AT LEAST 14 to 21 DAYS immediately after seeding.
We will contact you, the client, to schedule these services.

We will contact you two to three days ahead of the visit. Seeding days are weather sensitive so they may need to be rescheduled when required.
WHAT IS
SLIT-SEEDING?
Slit seeding is a better option for faster, more dramatic lawn improvements. Slit seeding allows moisture and fertilizers to enter and mix with the soil. A slit seeder is equipped with a series of rotating knives that cut into the soil forming narrow grooves.
Slit seeding is achieved by a machine that creates small ¼ inch slits in the soil through existing turf. The seeds are then dropped directly into the slits to create a very high rate of seed to soil contact.
